AT Hi-heelsinc we like to feature businesses ran by women and this time around we have ran into the world renowned producer and creator of the Hanky Tanky Hanger. I have to say that organization is the number goal in a woman’s life. We have sat down with the creator of the trendy Hanky Tanky Hanger. Mrs. Chrissie Thompson.

HIH: Who are you?

Chrissie: I am a very positive and passionate woman with a great sense of humor . When I set a goal, nothing stops me from achieving my aspirations. I never let setbacks consume me. If anything, I strive even harder. My family laughs and says that I tend to take myself too serious at times. True, but it is just me being Chrissie.

HIH: What do you do?

CHRISSIE: I am the CEO of Hanky Tanky LLC. Our company develops and market new innovating products that simplify consumers everyday lives.

HIH: Where are you going?

CHRISSIE: I just got back from LA, California where I met with several wardrobe studios and independent stylist to the stars. The film studios will be using the Hanky Tanky Hanger on each of their sets for better costume organization during shoots. A major Hollywood wardrobe supplier, Western Costume Co. is now a distributor of the Hanky Tanky to film studios. This fall I will be in New York city showcasing Hanky Tanky products. In the Spring, I will be in markets in and around Chicago.

HIH: How would you impact the young future CEO?

CHRISSIE:As a young woman, I would tell future CEOs to be passionate about achieving your goals. Believe in your product and/or service. If you don’t, no one else will. Do your own research but don’t be afraid to ask questions from business leaders with experience.

HIH: What have you done to give back?

CHRISSIE:I created the pink Hanky Tanky Hanger which symbolizes support for cancer research after losing my aunt Sandra Butler McGrath to ovarian cancer. Also, my mother in-law Faye Harris is a survivor of colon cancer. With that said, I donate a percentage of the pink Hanky Tanky sales to the American Cancer Society.

HIH: If you had $100,000 what would you do with it?

CHRISSIE: I would donate 10% to the American Cancer Society and reinvest the remaining funds to grow my company.

HIH: Your Website?

HIH: How did you get started?

CHRISSIE:After doing Laundry one evening I told my husband to hang up my tank tops for me. Seeing that I had more tops then hangers he told me that I should create something that would free up more closet space and allow me to hang more tops on one hanger. We started making sketches and the Hanky Tanky Hanger was born. I then filed for a Patent, Trademark and domain name. After that, I hired a company to produce my product. The rest is still history in the making.

HIH: What do you love about HI-HEELSINC?

CHRISSIE: What I love most about Hi Heels inc is that, it allows women from all walks of life to meet and share positive ideas. There aren’t many online social communities where the primary focus is for women from all walks of business, from employee to CEO, to meet and network.

HIH: Your inspiration?

One of my inspirational persons is Michelle Obama. She grew up on the Southside of Chicago where she busted her tail to attend Princeton University. Her life story is to me a great American story. Her strength and devotion to her family truly gives me motivation to always excel and never settle for second.

HIH: How long have you been in business? I am going on my second year in business.

HIH: We want the history of Hanky Tanky Hanger, We want to know have there been
any struggles and success due to launching. What mistakes have you made
that you would have done differently?

CHRISSIE: I think my biggest mistake was our launching of our website too close
to advertising on TV. Our website still had some bugs. You live and learn.
I think the biggest struggle that I have had so far was finding the
right manufacture to make the product. But in the end it was all worth
it.
HIH: For the record what is the retail price for your product.
CHRISSIE: Currently you can only buy on-line. I am working on my point of sale
for retail stores. The Hanky Tanky Hanger sells for $19.99

HIH: In five years where do you see your company?
CHRISSIE: I hope to take my company public.

HIH: We also would like to know what is your muse in keeping you motivated?
CHRISSIE: What keeps me motivated are my customers. I get emails telling how
much they love the Hanky Tanky hanger.
